Girls Birthday Party Games: Fun Activities Guests will Love

Girls birthday party games can be a lot of fun! That is as long as you plan for the right type of activity based on the age group and personality of the party. Although no two girls are alike, you can determine what the other children will enjoy based on what your child likes. For example, if your child is into sports, then her friends may be as well. If she loves girly activities, then her friends may follow suit. You can’t please everyone but you can please a majority. If in doubt, stick with traditional girls birthday party games that you know everyone can enjoy regardless of age or personal taste!

Horse Races

Many little girls love horses. If your child does as well, consider including horse races in your girls birthday party games. The way this event works is by purchasing enough broomstick “horses” for each child to have one. If you are planning a large turn out, then consider turning the race into a relay. That way, you will need one third or half as many broom stick horses because the children can wait at designated check points and hand off the “horse.” Just like a traditional race, the horse race involves getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible. The only difference is that they must do so while riding the broomstick horse.

To make the horse race even more entertaining, create a three level platform for first, second and third places to stand on. This doesn’t have to be elaborate, and could even be done on stairs (such as a front or back porch step) with two or more steps. Consider handing out ribbons or medals as a part of your girls birthday party games prize ceremony.

Thinking Games

Indoor parties may not be well suited for a lot of running around. Indoor girls birthday party games can be just as entertaining, without all the physical movement. Try coming up with a few thinking games. Word scrambles and searches can be a lot of fun, especially when using words that would interest the party guests. For example, choose words that compliment the party theme or if your child has a favorite television program, use character names in the world search.

If you are looking for more unique girls birthday party games that can be played indoors, consider creating a giant game of Memory. If you haven’t played it (or haven’t played in a while) Memory is the game using a deck of cards with images on each card. The cards are placed in rows with the image hidden underneath. Each player takes turns flipping a card and trying to find a match. The goal is to remember where each image is so you can make the most pairs. When a pair is made, the cards to go that player. The player with the most matches wins. For girls birthday party games, consider enlarging this activity by making your own enormous cards and playing Memory on the living room floor!
